I can’t believe how difficult this already is.
Step one: use the Marta website, itsmarta.com, to “Plan my trip.” Except I live OTP, and this site doesn’t know how to get me from my house to, well, anywhere, so that doesn’t work. Since my house isn’t a valid starting point for the otherwise pretty helpful Plan My Trip page, I’m going to have to catch a Cobb County bus, connect to a Marta bus, then get on a Marta train. So…
Step two: check out the Cobb County Transportation website and figure out which bus to catch when to where. Holy shit.
Step three: get in the car and drive to the nearest bus stop. Find out the route number and then look up the route on the CCT site.
Step four: now I know which CCT route I can catch and which transfer station I’m getting on Marta from, so now I can plan my Marta trip. Marta’s site tells me this 12 mile trip is going to take one full hour. And that’s not counting the bus ride. Another slog through the mire that is CCT’s website and I have finally come to a conclusion:
I need to be at my bus stop at 7:40. So I’ll try to get there around 7:30.
I will be walking out of my front door tomorrow morning–and every weekday morning for the next four weeks–at 7am to get to work two hours later.
